Dennis Hart first became involved in the food business sixteen years ago making his own Maple Syrup as North Coast Sugarbush by tapping the trees on the family farm. First generation in the food business, Dennis offered maple products to the public through various trade shows in the area. As he attended the shows, he added cinnamon roasted nuts to his menu. This was the foundation of the next company he started, European Gourmet Almonds, a venture in which he included his children Brian, Craig, and Eric. As the nut business increased, the Maple products slowly phased away.
After many hardships, trials, and tribulations as a small family-owned business, they decided to add fudge and gourmet chocolates to their product line. In 2004, sons Craig and Eric started Buckeye Chocolate Company which is developing a strong presence in the chocolate confectionary industry today.
Having a taste for fine foods and an entrepreneurial spirit, Dennis and partner, Carol, took up the idea to offer fine wine salsas and wine frappés. Together they started Nectar of the Vine in 2008. Stationed in Burton, Ohio, we are building on our past experience and can be found at expos across the country.
