Dennis Hart first became involved in the food business sixteen years ago when he began tapping the trees on his family farm, and making his own maple syrup as North Coast Sugarbush. Dennis offered maple products to the public through various trade shows in the area. As he attended the shows, he diversified his business by adding cinnamon roasted nuts to his menu.
Dennis decided to make his business a multi-generational effort when he included his children Brian, Craig, and Eric, in the next company he started. European Gourmet Almonds was founded in 1992, and was based on his previous experience selling nuts. As the nut business increased, Dennis and his sons slowly phased out the maple products.
After many hardships, the family decided to add fudge and gourmet chocolates to their product line. In 2004, sons Craig and Eric started Buckeye Chocolate Company, which is developing a strong presence in the chocolate confectionery industry today.
Dennis and partner, Carol, started Nectar of the Vine in 2008 because of their entrepreneurial spirits and their tastes for fine foods. They are stationed in Burton, Ohio, but are building on their past experience, and can be found at expos across the country. In addition to frappés, they offer a wide range of gourmet wine salsas, olive oils, pastas, sauces and spreads.
Nectar of the Vine has been pretty busy these last couple of months. The company's new affiliate, Coast to Coast Gift Baskets, was launched as a premier gift basket company. Coast to Coast's easy step by step process, provides a simple solution for gift giving, perfect for all personal or corporate occasions.
